Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa

we played here the weekend of the open and had a great time. out of the 4 courses we played i liked Southern Dunes the most and would highly recommend. Conditions, staff and pace of play were excellent. our only complaint was being nudged by the marshall at the turn...we were 4 minutes behind pace of play and there were no group in sight behind us for a least 1 probably 2 hoes. otherwise, it felt like we had the course to ourselves. i would definitely return and would probably try to fit in 36.

Good conditions TEE to green including bunkers. Greens recently aerated as advertised, still a little bumpy. Good pace of play. Always challenging. Everything was up to our expectations.

Played at Southern Dunes twice this week. Hard to believe that an Arizona Course could be in any better shape in July. Great Staff and you are pampered with complimentary ice cold water bottles and Mango Towels. They have nailed it!

Great layout, lots of bunkers, staff was great. Pace of play was good, 4hr round. Looked a little brown but played soft. Only negative was the bugs?

Great Golf Course! Challenging but very fair. Will definitely play again on my next trip to Pheonix. Course was in Awesome condition. Very scenic.

Came here with a group from out of state. Staff was very professional and knowledgeable of the course. Priced very competitively. One of the best courses I have ever golfed in terms of experience and quality. Definitely reccomend this course.

Very nice course and great amenities. Price was on the high side and there was a little attitude from a few employees! Oh well I was there to play golf not make best friends. The course is worth playing and very challenging unless you are a very good sand player. On the other hand if you play smart you can score well and have fun. Back to the price I think this is a $70-$80 dollar course. We arrived 2 hours early and there was no way to get out early or so we were told. Tee times are 10 minutes apart but after waiting 2 hours they put a 4 some in front of us which delayed our start. I went in and asked and the response was oh sorry about that. Guess its good to know people...I did not appreciate this! Course is still worth playing...

Fantastic track, played it in Nov 2017 and was blown away at the high quality conditions and especially quick greens for the season. Looking forward to playing it again on my next trip.

The food is great. everyone who works there they are so helpful well polite I don't mind coming in again

Great course and facilities. The highlight course of my golfing week. A little bit of a trip from Scottsdale where I was staying but definitely worth it. Staff was very cordial as well.

I enjoy making the trip to play golf here. The course, staff and amenities are great. If you are looking to get away and enjoy some golf...this is a good place. Tee to green this place is worth it! The past few summers I had purchased a Summer 6 Pack and it's a great deal ($125): 6 rounds of golf, 6 golf balls, 6 beverages and discounts at the grille and golf shop.

One of the best courses in this area and worth the 40 minute drive. Cordial staff and good food and service. A must play.

I paid $75ish for a early twilight tee time (1:30pm) the first week of February. I thought it was very good value. I was blown away by the quality of the course. Tough, but a really neat design. Lots of bunkers would be an understatement, but the greens were generally pretty large fast and true.Keep it out of the bunkers and you'll be fine. For goodness sake, keep it out of the bunkers!!!

Great course. Well maintained and a great staff. Pace of play was excellent. Challenging course with lots of bunkers. I'll play here again when I come back to Phoenix. Well worth the drive from downtown!

Phenomenal golf course. Bunkers every where greens our awesome. This course has the best set of par 3s any where. Great bang for your buck. You will not be disappointed.

Hands down the best course south of the Salt River. From the pro shop to the restaurant, from tee to green, this is real golf course and a class act operation. Keep it up Ak-Chin!

Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is one of my favorite courses in the country. The staff is incredible, the practice facility is world class, and the course is ALWAYS in great shape. That, and #miniDunes, the short course on the floor of the driving range, is unique and really fun to play. It doesn't get much better than Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

Great course, friendly staff, and good restaurant make this course worth the time, in season or off.

It’s a pretty nice course with even nicer golf carts/accessories, however, I had an awful time when I was here. My golf partner and I were paired with two “regulars” who were passive aggressive and had no professional conduct. From putting the flag in while we were putting to driving away and teeing up as we were still finishing our putts. I’m not really in a rush to back if that’s how the regulars conduct themselves.

My husband is a scratch golfer and I'm a 15. The course is a bit of a challenge for me, but I love it. It is a great course for him. We very much enjoy coming out here and using our Troon twosome card.

highly underrated course. Worth the drive, good conditions, fast play, unbelievable specials. Paid $20 on a Sat AM due to online discount.

Tough course, well sculpted and laid out, must know targets. Staff were cordial and accomodating and knowledgeable. Watch out for snakes of all kinds, horse flies and mosquitos. Beautiful course, very natural in its setting. A hidden gem.

My only complaint is the amount of bunkers on this course. It's tough, so be prepared to spend a lot more time in the sand than David Hasselfhoff. If you can't hit out of the sand, well then you're pretty much out of luck. There is, however, a really nice chipping green by the driving range to practice on before your round. Otherwise good luck because I shot my highest round of golf at Southern Dunes this year.The management is awesome here. They do a great job at keeping up the pace of play when things get slowed down. Also, the Arroyo Grill has some amazing food and refreshing beers on tap if you need to relax after your (terrible) round.

What a fun course! And the staff....top notch!! Will definitely come back and play this course, hopefully many more times. Loved it!

This is my very first review and that is because this course really made an impression! First time playing here and it was amazing. The staff was friendly, personable, and helpful. Driving range/ putting area were top notch. The course was in amazing shape from the fairways, to the bunkers, and the GREENS ARE PERFECT! Great work everyone that maintains that course and thank you for all the hard work to make it such an experience.

Took a friend to see this great place here in Maricopa, had a wonderful time. We will be back soon.
